Penguin United launches 4X Quad Charge Station for Wii

Li-Ion Batteries Charge 4 Wii Remotes Simultaneously for 13 Hours of Actual Playtime per Remote

Fremont, Calif., (July, 2008) – Continuing its rapid ascent toward the top of the highly competitive peripherals market, Penguin United has announced the launch of its highly anticipated 4X Quad Charge Station that can charge four Wii remotes simultaneously. The 4X Quad Charge Station provides each remote with up to 13 hours of battery life and requires less than four hours of charge time.  The fact that Penguin’s Quad Charger uses a Li-Ion Battery rather than the standard Ni-Mh also means that each remote will have 13 hours of actual playtime unhindered by drainage.

The 4X Quad Charge Station uses Li-Ion batteries rather than inferior Ni-Mh batteries that are typically used in other similar products and is equipped with a charge-percentage LED that indicates charge status at 25% increments (which gives the user plenty of advance notice before a recharge is required). As a free bonus, the 4X Quad Charge Station also comes with 4 colored remote straps to help gamers color-code their remotes. The 4X Quad Charge Station has a suggested retail price of $44.99 and is distributed exclusively through Red Lion Interactive.

“Consumer demand is high for a charging station that juices up more than one or two Wii remotes,” stated Penguin President, Richard Huang. “We have addressed and resolved that demand by developing a highly reliable charge station at a price that Wii fans can afford.” Continued Huang: “The Quad Charge Station is our premiere offering for 2008, a product we have proudly developed for our loyal customers.”

If this unit is like the Dual Chager (2nd Gen) that I reviewed (here), it should be a recommended item. I didn’t ask for one to review this time around, as I only have 2 Wiimotes, and as I have stated before, this site is a labor of love, so I can only do what I have purchased myself :)

Edit (4 hours later). I just learned that I will be getting a unit for review, so I am off to buy 2 more Wiimotes. And I got some pretty pictures to post too.
