3 new games coming soon from Southpeak
Saturday, October 18th, 2008Edge of Twilight
Edge of Twilight made its official debut at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The steampunk action game has players take on the role of Lex, a hero that exists in two worlds at the same time, and who must traverse through these worlds to keep them both from being destroyed. Edge of Twilight is scheduled to release in Fall 2009 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. For those of you not lucky enough to get to check it out at TGS, here’s a batch of screenshots from the demo that was shown. Enjoy!
Ninjatown
In our Ninjatown update today (a week and a half away!), we have info on four new enemies – Syrup Devils, Chubby Devils, Tribal Devils and Tongueys – as well as two all new districts – the Farmlands and Foothills. Also, if your readers are looking for a great pre-order deal, Amazon.com is still offering an exclusive Ninjatown skin for the Nintendo DS. You can see that here: Amazon Special
And be sure to make your own Wee Ninja in the Wee Ninjatron @ http://create.ninjatown.com
Syrup Devils
Trained by Mr. Demon to spread around Dark Syrup, these Devils use high-pressure hoses to douse Ninjas with the noxious goop. Affected Ninjas will be slowed down temporarily.
Chubby Devils
Chubby Devils are protected by a thick layer of fat that can absorb damage from weak attacks! Only be upgrading your Ninjas or using hard-hitters like the Anti-Ninja will you defeat these adversaries of exercise.
Tribal Devils
These chanting, armored Devils not only attack Ninjas from a great distance, but also do a Dark Syrup dance, summoning a nasty syrup cloud that drenches your Ninjas in sticky goo.
Tongueys
Forked Tongueys are bizarre little creatures! Their profuse salivating allows them to slip right past most Ninjas, and just when you think they’re defeated, they split in two! They’re also liars!
The Farmlands
You’ll need to defend the crops of Rural Route 4 on your trek through the Farmlands. Spin the Wheel of Efficiency, your newest Ol’ Master Ninja Power, and earn a random bonus like invincible Ninjas or 100 cookies! Ol’ Wheat Road brings your first conflict with the Forked Tongueys, which can slip past most Ninjas and will split in two when on the verge of being defeated! At the Crop Circle, you’ll need to rely on one of your Ol’ Master Skills if you hope to triumph over Mr. Demon’s minions, and you can place a Ninja Temple near troops to increase the cookies they gain from enemies. In the final Farmlands showdown, you’ll battle with the Queen of the Forked Tongueys at River Road.
The Foothills
Mr. Demon has used trickery to make his way to the foothills of the Feroshi Mountains! Take down his troops on the Jagged Pathway as you enlist the help of the rare and powerful Mountain Ninjas! You’ll need to strategically divide up your defenses when you tackle the Split Pass, and beware of the Balloon Devils, who rain destruction down from above. Foothills Pond has two entrances and exits to defend, and you’ll need to place your Ninja resources carefully to take down wave after wave of the enemy. Finally, Mountain Junction has four paths to defend, and Ninja Consultant estimates at least 100 enemies to defeat, indicating that this is just a taste of the difficult challenges that lay ahead for the Ninjas.
X-Blades
We have some exciting new information from X-Blades, the anime inspired action game scheduled to ship later this winter. Below you’ll find all new details on two of the spells from the game – Darkball and Dark Rage – as well as two of the beasts you’ll encounter – Pangos and The Six Winged. We’ve also included the Xbox 360 and PS3 box art in the assets link for your viewing pleasure.
Darkball:
Sometimes there are situations where other powers fail, and the dark power seems to be the only thing that can overcome the odds. Darkball is useful; you could throw a ball of energy that explodes on contact and throws your opponent to the ground. What makes it even more appealing is that monsters without any magic skills can’t escape from Darkball and creatures of Light are extremely vulnerable to it.
Dark Rage:
In really crazy situations, it might be a good idea to let the dark power control Ayumi. She can release this power when she is surrounded by enemies. She creates a network of darkness that lashes out of the ground at those around her. Its becoming easy to see how the Dark power can be used to help her. (Requirement: Darkball)
Pangos:
Figety and always hungry, Pango try to compensate for their lack of magic with their sharp teeth, high agility and large numbers. Pango surround their victim, exhaust him with a steady onslaught of bites and jabs, and then kick him down and tear him to pieces.
The Six-Winged:
This flying insect-like creature looks like a dragonfly with one huge eye. In actuality, Six-winged are almost blind, and during flight, can only find their prey by detecting the heat all living things radiate. Their eye is, in fact, a lens which allows them to direct their magical power toward their victim. Experienced warriors know these creatures can be killed with just a knife and the necessary skills. Bullets or offensive spells can easily reach a Six-winged in the air.
