Supreme Ruler 2020 Expansion Pack Global Crisis Announced

Paradox Interactive today announced a new expansion pack for the geo-political, military strategy game Supreme Ruler 2020, developed by BattleGoat Studios, called Global Crisis.

“This is the first time we’ve developed an expansion pack and we wanted to ensure that we had significant new content for our dedicated players to enjoy,” remarked David Thompson, BattleGoat’s Lead Designer and Co-Founder.

“At the core of the expansion pack, we created a whole new sandbox style campaign that paints a new and far more intricate portrayal of the world of 2020 based on many of the ominous events from recent real-world headlines. Global Crisis is scheduled for a digital download release via GamersGate during the latter half of Q4, 2008 and will require Supreme Ruler 2020 to play. Supreme Ruler 2020 was released in June 2008.

Armed with Napoleon’s Ambition, leaders of nations will have access to more flexibility and choice in determining the course of their empires. The game’s timeline is extended to 1820, so aspiring generals can test their military might against the increasingly aggressive AI through all the battles of the French Revolution.

Expanded Timeline 
The expanded timeline includes new content such as new leaders, rulers, advisor wars, countries and national ideas as well as dozens of new units for more tactical choices.

Historical Options 
With hundreds of new events, players will be able to see their rulers, leaders and advisors appear on accurate historical dates.

Improved Interface 
The new trading mode for the map displays all goods that will be produced in each respective province, including the value of the goods. This means the ledger will have more pages, including information about colonies and leaders.

Enhanced Trading System 
The new trading system will let players to automatically send merchants to specific trading centers. Players can choose the trading centers they most want to focus on, and the game will automatically take care of the necessary trading actions. This system also includes a new rule for overseas trade where players will have to use war or diplomacy to give merchants access markets.

Fans Celebrate Launch of Fallout 3 at Midnight Sales Events

Thousands of fans jammed stores to purchase one of the most anticipated videogames of the fall, Fallout 3, at midnight launch events across the country last evening. At the Best Buy in Rockville, MD, which is located near Bethesda Game Studios, members of the development team, along with Lynda Carter, actress and wife of ZeniMax Media CEO Robert Altman, were on-hand to celebrate with hundreds of fans who lined up in the rain as early as 1:00pm and came as far as North Carolina to buy the game and meet the developers.  

Fallout 3 is now available in stores and online in North America and will be released in Europe and Australia on October 30 and in the UK on October 31. I was not lucky enough to have an event near me, but I still had my pre-order filled tonight on my way home from work! I can’t wait to crack this one open. I will provide a “Impressions” review, but it’d take me WEEKS to play this game straight through to the end, and I intend to enjoy myself immensely being a HUGE fan of the series (and it’s granddaddy Wasteland…REMAKE THIS SOMEONE!!). First 3 of the new Girl-gamer focused “Ener-G” series games released

Final Gears of War 2 video documentary out today
