Hudson Entertainment Raises Quality of Mobile Game Development Thanks to Javaground’s Xpress Suite

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Javaground’s Xpress Suite is a comprehensive development and porting solution. It enables easier and faster development and porting with enhanced quality. Hudson Entertainment Inc. has improved the quality of its games along with an easier porting thanks to it

Hudson Entertainment announced today the benefits of using the Javaground Xpress Suite for the making of their mobile games. Hudson has been using the Xpress Suite for the past two years and it has helped improve the quality of their games and expedite the porting process significantly.

“Since 2007, Hudson has used the Xpress Suite from Javaground for the development and porting of our game applications. Bomberman Land and Military Madness 2 were also developed on Xpress, and the game quality has dramatically improved compared to previous versions. A high level of porting is needed for a single game title to support close to 200 terminals. For this to happen, a system is required that all programs can easily understand. In this regard, we feel the Xpress Suite is an exceptional tool,” said Yoko Tsumagari, Vice-President of Mobile Games at Hudson Entertainment, Inc.

The Xpress SuiteTM features components like the Resource Manager and the Level Editor that enable fast development of high quality games by allowing developers to focus on the game design and playability instead of the technical details. Using the Javaground Xpress SuiteTM, a single developer can create a mobile application that works on over 1500 devices in a record time.

“Having a customer like Hudson, one of the most established game companies, is a great testament of the efficiencies brought about by our Xpress Suite in the development of games,” said Alex Kral, CEO and co-founder of Javaground.

Site Updates

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

The site updates will be a bit more time-contained for the next few days, as my laptop has had to go back to HP for some TLC. I have been assured that I will have it back by Friday. I’m sure that I’ll have to re-install everything, so we will be doing updates from a PC that’s not exactly setup to run GNB. We will try to make it fairly transparent, but the late evening updates will not happen for the week.

Today will be historic

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

No matter what your politics, today will be a historic day. We will have a new President, and one party as the majority in Washington. Everyone in the United States will be paying attention to the inaguration today, and abroad, they will be acutely tuned into what is said in the first speech, which will determine the course of Obama’s Presidency. I hope you all watch or at least listen to the Inaguration today.

Wonderland Online: Top Gear Tips

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

One commonality in all online games is a feeling of competition between players, whether it’s friendly or not. Just as in real life, players who manage to acquire the best gear, pets, or stats have reason to show off, while other players are driven to surpass their achievements and get even better gear, pets, or stats. Well, this competitive spirit is alive and well in Wonderland Online (http://wl.igg.com), but with one notable exception. WLO players can produce and upgrade their gear by themselves. Players don’t have to worry about collecting the most money or whether the BOSS will drop that coveted piece of armor. Hard work is rewarded with tangible results.

1. Compounding
Key Points:

1) Compounding Method
To compound something, players need to keep both the materials and location in mind. Different materials with different levels and different locations will give different results. For example, if ore is compounded, or flowers and wood, players may get higher level items. Generally speaking, the final product will be of the same type as the one put in.

2) Alchemy Books
Alchemy Books have 4 level and they increase the level and success rate for compounding.

3) Alchemy
There are 3 levels: Primary Alchemy, Junior Alchemy and Senior Alchemy. The better a players alchemy level, the higher the success rate for compounding. Players should finish the related quest to learn Alchemy.

4) Materials
Almost all materials can be compounded, but the materials’ level is a key factor in the outcome. For example, a Level 8 compounded item will yield the best result for compounding Level 4 materials. If you need a high level item, you should use high level materials.

5) Luck
Even if a player follows all these directions to the letter, there is still a bit of LUCK involved.

6) Forging
Even some great gear can be upgraded to have better attributes if the Forging Room in the Item Mall is used. The original attributes will be increased by 2 each time the item is forged. For example, if the original attribute for a gun is ATK +74, after using the Forging Room, its attribute will be increased to ATK+74+10. The highest level for forging is 100.

7) Enchanting
Increases equipment attributes with a 100% success rate. However, different gems will provide different results. Available gems are: Bomb diamond, spar and colorful diamond.

Bomb diamonds: Increases critical strike chances. (32% increase is the best at present.) It can be socketed onto gear which is not from the Item Mall. It then has the same effect as an Item Mall item.

Spars and Colorful diamonds: Increases gear’s attributes. Spars cannot be traded.

Myth War IIIA New Combat-oriented MMO in Development

The Myth War series will eventually consist of three main games, each of them self-contained. People who have participated in the development of Myth War and Myth War II may already have a good insight into this brand new episode, Myth War III. If all goes well, we aim to release the new episode during Christmas 2009.

Continuing the themes of the previous Myth War episodes, Myth War III develops the storyline as players are forced to battle against powerful eternals. In this new episode, you will be led by the five soul stones to the Rarus Continent in 1900BC, a time of great turmoil where myths become reality. You will fight against Gods, evil Mages and corrupted Witches, all powered by a real time 3D graphics engine to generate amazing visual effects in the game.

In the new episode, you will be able to preview your characters before they are geared up or riding on pets, to help you choose more easily. The game features 3D lighting techniques where every object becomes more lifelike, even changing as the time passes from day to night. We are also excited to let players know about the new Homeland Construction and Collection and Production features, as well as newly developed dungeon areas.
