New Trailer Released for the Penumbra Collection

In anticipation of the Penumbra Collection release in April, 2009, Paradox Interactive has released a brand new trailer and screenshots for the terrifying second game in the collection, Penumbra: Black Plague

Developed by the small but highly talented development team at Frictional Games, Black Plague, originally released in February, 2008, proved to be an even bigger hit than its prequel Penumbra Overture. Continuing where the first game left off, Black Plague is a dark, psychological horror experience as Philip sets off in search of his dead father.

Trapped in a dark underground complex, Philip is determined to discover the truth behind his father’s disappearance. Surrounded by enemies and assaulted by terror from all sides, the player must collect clues and solve vexing physics-based puzzles while combating the gnawing psychological terrors that assail Philip’s mind and threaten to strip him of his sanity.

Commenting on the development of Penumbra: Black Plague Jens Nilsson, Co-Founder and Sound Director at Frictional Games, said, “InBlack Plague we polished the game concept from Overture and went further into the storyline and the characters. We chose to focus even more on the psychological horror and the desperation in Philip as he travels deeper into madness. Black Plague contains all of the best features from Overture but with a larger development budget, greater variation in the gameplay and puzzles, and a more disturbing atmosphere.”
