TOP: Maze-Cross-Harbor Tunnel Guide

Monday, February 16th, 2009

The folks at Tales of Pirates (http://top.igg.com/ ) want to tell you about the Cross-Harbor Tunnel. It is a fun underwater world on Spring Town with various kinds of cute little monsters. But be careful of their attacks! Players above level 65 can make a team and travel that mysterious Cross-Harbor Tunnel!

Guide of the Maze:

Step 1: look for the underground Watercourse of Spring Town.

Step 2: get through the maze after entering the underground Watercourse to reach the entrance of the Cross-Harbor Tunnel.

Step 3: get into Cross-Harbor Tunnel

The maze monsters:

Level 62 Long Hair Crab has Binding Skill, and drops the items: Long Hair Crab Pincer, Long Hair Shell, Tinder, Pink Crystal, Hurricane Vest, Lucky Bunny Muffs etc. (The Tinder can be used to resist Baby Icy Dragon’s Frost Breath.)

Level 68 Cursed Water Fairy has Cursing Skill, and drops the items: Whirlpool Boots, Rattlesnake, Revival Clover, Arista etc. (The Arista can be used to resist Long Hair Crab’s Binding.)

Level 65 Baby Icy Dragon has Frost Breath Skill, and drops the items: Cursed Bone, Blessed Shield, Protector Robe etc. (The Cursed Bone can be used to resist Cursed Water Fairy’s Curse.)

The Level 75 Icy Dragon is a BOSS, guarded by many Cursed Water Fairies. We suggest players kill the little critters around first before killing the BOSS, because if they are cursed, it will decrease their Defense by about 100 points. After killing the Icy Dragon, players will obtain a Dragon’s Tear, a level 75 Bow of Dusk and Faerie Gloves etc. (Dragon’s Tear is a prop which grants players an attractive quest after use. But players need to explore it themselves. )

2029 Online: Mercenary System Preview

Monday, February 16th, 2009

The Mercenary system in 2029 Online (http://forum.2029.igg.com) helps bring a new dimension to game play. When a quest is too tough to be completed solo and you can’t find anyone to form a party with, calling a mercenary into battle to fight by your side will be on the top of your Must-Do list. Our Mercenary System allows you to hire a single mercenary solider or even a whole group of them to be your strong-armed backup and take your enemies down.

In every combat scene, you are allowed to put together a team of crime fighters with various skills and a great deal of combat expertise. Military strategies will be involved in building your own combined armies. Everything about how to position your combatants in a battle to secure victory oozes the depth and tactics only found in typical RTS MMO games.

Hit the R key on your keyboard so that the pop up mercenary interface will be shown. In different combat scenes, three types of mercenaries will be available for you to choose from. It is important to take your profession into consideration while you are selecting your henchmen. A good party combination will guarantee a thrilling combat adventure. Keep reading to check out the specialties of each type of mercenary:

Swordsman: Dual swords are their weapon of choice. They are rulers of all close combat. With their flamboyant martial techniques and outstanding agility, each of their duals will be a deadly powerful slash at your enemies.

Soldier: Soldiers use swords and shields to charge ahead and take the enemies on their own ground. They are the strongest souls and face death without fear.

Gun fighter: Gunpowder is a great invention. Ever since it came into being, guns have taken the place of bows and become the best choice for long range weapons.

Sniper: Without the same speedy movement as the Gun fighters possess, Snipers can stealthily deal deadly damage to their opponents with their own heavy weapons. Once in battle, they will kill enemies in one shot.

Summoning a Mercenary:
The Mercenaries that you summon vary amongst the different combat scenes;

Mercenaries are only allowed to be summoned and party with you in combat scenes. Once you switch to a different scene or log out, they will disappear.

The death of mercenaries:
Mercenaries help you go further in the game. They will only die or disappear if they are killed or you make a switch between different scenes and log out.
