Ubisoft partners with Gold’s Gym on new cardio workout game for Wii

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Ubisoft announced today that it has partnered with Gold’s Gym, the world’s leading authority on health and fitness, to create the video game Gold’s Gym: Cardio Workout. Licensed by Rocket Co., Ltd., the game will be in North America stores on March 31, 2009 and it will be available exclusively for the Wii home video game system from Nintendo.

“We are excited to partner with Ubisoft on our first video game,” commented Lisa Zoellner, chief marketing officer of Gold’s Gym International. “It is a natural extension of our brand and is in line with our mission to get more people around the world excited about exercise and fitness. We believe that the game will provide consumers with a workout that is both fun and rewarding.”

Compatible with the Wii Balance Board accessory, the game provides players with a personal training experience. Players can perform a variety of exercises including cardio boxing, running, sit-ups and other activities while also tracking burned calories and body weight evolution. In addition, the game offers multiple training modes and fitness levels, and the difficulty of the gameplay evolves as the player’s fitness level increases.

“As a leader in personal training, we are thrilled to collaborate with Gold’s Gym on a new cardio workout game,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “In order to provide an authentic Gold’s Gym experience the game will incorporate gym signage and dialogue into the game.”

As part of the partnership, the game will be co-marketed by Gold’s Gym and Ubisoft. Each game will include a coupon for a one week free trial to Gold’s Gym. In addition, Gold’s Gym Cardio Workout will be featured throughout the Gold’s Gym clubs, on the Gold’s Gym website, and the game trailer will be displayed on the Gold’s Gym Broadcast Network. A demo of the game will also be available at various Gold’s Gym facilities.

Warrior Epic new screens

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

The new screen shots depict three of Warrior Epic’s six classes in different, stunning environments. The Devotress can be seen in gleaming armor doing battle deep in the mines of Welkin Warrens with a robotic adversary. A Pit Fighter has found safe haven in a Providian camp nestled in the treacherous jungles of Aberas, while an Illusionist fights against all odds in the mysterious Faustus Estate. For more information on Warrior Epic, and to register for the upcoming beta visit www.warriorepic.com.

Warrior Epic (www.warriorepic.com) is an online, action role-playing game set in an original fantasy universe. In the game, players will assume command of a Warrior Hall from which they manage their characters’ adventures. They can recruit from a wide array of Warrior Classes, each with its own style of play. The Classes and the Hall itself can be upgraded visually as well as functionally. Players adventure together in multiplayer campaigns, adventure mode, solo quests and PVP.

One of the most unique aspects of Warrior Epic is that death does not mean the end of a warrior. Instead, it opens totally new and strategic options for players. The game’s unique Warrior Spirits System enables fallen warriors to not only be revived at any time at their hall, but also to be transformed into Spirits that can be bound to weapons to increase and open weapon abilities and skills, or they can be called out to inflict massive damage depending on player needs.

Unlike most MMO’s today, Warrior Epic will offer players a satisfying online experience even if they have only a few hours a week to play. One of the ways Warrior Epic achieves this is by putting a heavy emphasis on focused, session-based missions. These 20-30 minute sessions allow a player to make significant progress in regards to leveling their Warrior, gaining loot, and accomplishing more in a much shorter timeframe than other existing games.

2029 Online: Guild Diploma

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

All of the guilds in 2029 Online (http://2029.igg.com) will set themselves goals to achieve and put the plans in motion for achieving each goal. Your guild’s policy position may be hostile to the interests of other guilds. Conflict may be inevitable; but also optional. In 2029 online, there are a couple of reasons for a guild to pick a fight and wage war in others. Once a guild has zero tolerance towards any further provocation or violation, a war will soothe its rage. Today, 2029 Online Team would like to share the information on it:

There are two types of relationship between guilds. The default is peace.

The relationship between guilds will affect the Evil Index.

The relationship mechanism is unilateral. Guild A is hostile to Guild B while Guild B may describe their relationship with Guild A as friendly.

Guilds at level 1 and level 2 are not allowed to be hostile to any other guild. In return, guilds of higher levels can’t also assume the hostile attitude toward guilds at level 1 and level 2.

The Evil Index will be gained based on how the relationship between guilds is defined. Killing players from hostile guilds will not cause an increase in Evil Index. But the death of a guild member from buddy guilds will result in the gains of additional Evil Index.

Toggle Hostility/Peace on:
Activate a sync relationship: Talk to Guild Admin, select a guild, click to Wage War or Sign a Peace Treaty and wait for their response. If the guild of your choice clicks to agree, a sync relationship will be activated. The option of Sign a Peace Treaty or Wage War will be inactive if both guilds have previously been at peace or hostile towards each other.

Hostility: Your guild will toggle Hostility on and be hostile to a guild of which three members are killed by your guild member in one day. That tells us that members of that guild will not gain Evil Index for every kill of your guild members.

Peace: Your guild will toggle Peace on three days after the day your guild members kill less than three members from any other guilds.

Every day at midnight, the updated diploma relationship between guilds will be posted.
