Zombie Studios’ Downloadable Unreal-Powered FPS Will Include Co-Operative Play for Up-To-Four Players In Addition To Traditional Competitive Multiplayer Modes

Ignition Entertainment, a UTV Media Communication Company, and Zombie Studios have announced that Blacklight: Tango Down, the upcoming downloadable first person shooter, will include a full co-operative gameplay component – entitled “Black Ops” – in addition to the game’s already robust line-up of competitive multiplayer game modes.

Blacklight: Tango Down is an AAA-quality first person shooter that will be released exclusively through digital download channels for an expected price of $15. The game will be released this summer through Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360, PlayStation Store for PS3 and PC.

“With Blacklight: Tango Down, we are raising the bar for what gamers can expect from DLC, with the kind of experience that traditionally is found in a $60, AAA retail game,” said Ajay Chadha, President of Worldwide Publishing, Ignition Entertainment. “Cooperative play is a critical part of today’s multiplayer experience, and Blacklight: Tango Down will deliver on this fun and dramatic way to play alongside three of your friends. This kind of elite content is what separates Blacklight: Tango Down from other DLC and makes it the most fully featured downloadable-only shooter available on any console or PC.”

The cooperative “Black Ops” portion of Blacklight: Tango Down is a truly intense and exhilarating experience where players deploy as the Blacklight faction, fighting their way through the dilapidated streets of Balik to confront and defeat soldiers from the opposing faction, The Order.

Black Ops missions will increase the deep replay value of the game by offering upgrades, character growth and more to those who choose to take the cooperative battle. Upon completing Black Ops missions, a player will receive a completion score that varies based on the difficulty setting, overall performance and time the player needed to complete the coop mission. Players can then replay the scenarios, perfecting their assault, in a quest to reach the top of the Black Ops leader boards, gain additional XP to grow their character, and earn new weapon tags.

About Blacklight: Tango Down

Blacklight: Tango Down will deliver some of the most exciting multiplayer action in the shooter category and features numerous gameplay modes, including traditional formats like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch & Control Point, cooperative play, and other modes that will be announced in the build up to launch. In addition, Blacklight: Tango Down will set itself apart with its incredibly deep customization, where players can alter and upgrade their character through experience gained on the battlefield, as well as their weapons. New weapon customizations will unlock as the player gains experience points and will include basic add-ons like sniper scopes as well as complex enhancements, such as items that improve accuracy.

Ubisoft launches environment-friendly packaging for its PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 video games

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Today Ubisoft announced an environmental initiative to eliminate paper game manuals, replacing them with an in-game digital manual for all titles on PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360. The program, the first initiative of its kind in the video game industry, launches worldwide with Shaun White Skateboarding this holiday 2010.

Ubisoft’s digital game manuals will provide multiple benefits for the player and the environment. Including the game manual directly in the game will offer the player easier and more intuitive access to game information, as well as allow Ubisoft to provide gamers with a more robust manual. Ubisoft internal data shows that producing one ton of paper used in Ubisoft’s game manuals consumes an average of two tons of wood from 13 trees, with a net energy of 28 million BTU’s (equivalent to average heating and energy for one home/year), greenhouse gases equivalent of over 6,000 lbs of CO2, and wastewater of almost 15,000 gallons.

“It’s pretty cool that Ubisoft is making a conscious effort to go green with its new video game packaging,” commented Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White. “I’m excited for my new skateboarding game to come out and stoked that it will be the very first Ubisoft game to be part of their green packaging initiatives.”

In addition to Ubisoft’s efforts to decrease paper usage in its game packaging, Ubisoft has partnered with Technimark, Inc. to release the entertainment industry’s most environmentally-responsible DVD case for all of its future PC titles in North America. The 100 percent-recycled polypropylene “ecoTech” DVD case will make its debut with Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction PC video game on April 27, 2010. Ubisoft has featured digital game manuals in its PC titles distributed in North America since March 2010.

“Ubisoft is often recognized for making great games, but it’s a special privilege to be the industry leader at saving trees,” said Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America. “Eco-friendly initiatives are important to the global community and introducing in-game digital manuals on Xbox 360 and PS3 is just the latest example of Ubisoft’s ongoing commitment to being a more environmentally conscious company.”

The update includes a vast amount of new content including a new guild system, a brand-new lobby, new customization items and much more.

The latest update features exciting new content and polish that will enhance the playability of the already immersive MMO. One of the most exciting new updates is the new Guild System which lets players add, promote, and invite others to guild chat and send messages.

The brand-new Lobby now resides inside of the impressive Governing Providian Castle. The Warrior Hall, which is now the player’s stronghold, features numerous customization features including more furniture, unique warrior customization options and all-new items to use in dungeons; including pets!

Among other new features is an all-new item called a “Revive Badge” that allows players to continue after dying three times in any play area and grants them an additional life. Up to three Revive Badges can be carried in the player’s inventory and used anytime. Additionally, the new update features numerous skill balance improvements and as a result all players will receive a free skill point reset. An all new streamlined Cash Shop with updated UI, increased polish, and easier navigation is also included and allows for more a seamless experience.

“This is a major update for Warrior Epic and includes a lot of things our players have asked for,” said Peter Cesario, director of product development at True Games Interactive. “We are committed to continually updating the game and providing great entertainment for our loyal warriors.”

Warrior Epic is an online, action role-playing game set in an original fantasy universe. In the game, players will assume command of a Warrior Hall from which they manage their characters’ adventures. They can recruit from a wide array of Warrior Classes, each with its own style of play. The Classes and the Hall itself can be upgraded visually as well as functionally. Players adventure together in multiplayer campaigns, adventure mode, solo quests and PVP. One of the most unique aspects of Warrior Epic is that death does not mean the end of a warrior. Instead, it opens totally new and strategic options for players. The game’s unique Warrior Spirits System enables fallen warriors to not only be revived at any time at their hall, but also to be transformed into Spirits that can be bound to weapons to increase and open weapon abilities and skills, or they can be called out to inflict massive damage depending on player needs.
