Gatheryn Hosts In-Game Ice Cream Social For Active Beta Users

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

This afternoon at 3pm PDT, active Gatheryn beta testers will have the opportunity to participate in Gatheryn’s first community event, The Elymia Ice Cream Social. The Ice Cream social is open only to active beta testers, but more events will be scheduled, and more users welcomed into the beta in the weeks to come. Don’t miss out on the fun and excitement of Gatheryn community events – register for the beta at http://www.mindfusegames.com.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other Elymians and exercise Gatheryn’s social functionality by comparing clothing ensembles, adding others to their Friends List, or playing a game of checkers. Members of the Mindfuse staff will also be in attendance to answer questions about Elymian life and listen to feedback from users on what they like in the game, and what they’d like to see changed.

Ice cream will be distributed to all attendees as an in-game item 3 times during the event – at 3:00, 3:30 and 4:00. Using ice cream is a good way to test out Gatheryn’s newly implemented health system as a single serving completely cures all fatigue. No RSVP is required for active users. The event will take place in Westpark, just outside the Broken Anchor Pub, in the Western portion of the city.

Pangya is free for players to download and play, while some items in the game including certain characters, clothing sets, new equipment and accessories will be available to purchase via micro-transaction.

The in-game currency in Pangya, called Pang, allows players to purchase items from the game’s shop that will upgrade a character, provide new inventory and equipment, allows them to send gifts to other players and more. Gamers can earn Pang by finishing a hole at par or better, and by showcasing powerful shots.

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Paradox Interactive have released in game footage for Hearts of Iron III, the long awaited third instalment of the World War II Strategy series set for release towards the end of 2009.

The video footage is showcasing France 1939, the war has begun and the French troops are massing on its eastern frontier preparing to repel the inevitable German invasion.

However France does have diplomatic options to strengthen its defences. Buying production licences can allow the French army access to better equipment or perhaps transfer troops to allied command for joint operations could improve the position. Diplomacy is just another continuation of politics.

Galaxy Online: New Server Released

Galaxy Online: New Server Released

Galaxy Online (http://go.igg.com) is very happy to announce that a new server named “Gemini” was launched on 4:00 a.m. (GMT-4), March 27th.

We thank all players’ wonderful support since Galaxy Online beta test. We are really heartened by this. Your encouragement also stimulates us to make further development. The existing “Aries” server is pushing its upper limit as most of lands have been conquered. In order to relieve population stress and offer better service as well as invite more new players to join Galaxy Online, a brand new server with untouched galaxies is now ready for new and experienced players to explore.

As celebration for the launching of Gemini, we now have confirmed two exciting activities here:
Composite Strength Competition
In the game, the six factions do not usually compete with each other because they seldom leave their own territories. Now, we are excited to initiate a competition between the factions and reward the top 100 players. When the competition deadline expires, the players who rank 1st to 100th on the “Composite Strength” list in the game will be awarded different amounts of Mall Points.

Shootdowns Contest
When the event ends, the top 30 players on the “Shootdowns” list in the game will be the winners of the contest. The player who shoots down the most ships (excluding ships they’ve shot down while doing quests) will rank higher on the “Shootdowns” list. The top 10 players will be awarded 200 Mall Points each and those who rank 11th to 30th on the list will be awarded 100 Mall Points each.

First come, first Served. Remember time is everything is this unique game.

Gamescampus.com to publish realistic 3D pool simulation, Cue Online

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

The New Online Game Offers Realistic Billiards Gameplay With A Custom Physics Engine

San Jose-based online game publisher, GamesCampus.com (www.GamesCampus.com, run by OnNet USA), announced today that it will publish Cue Online, a free, item-based realistic online pool simulation game. Nominated as “Best Game of the Month” by the Korean Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the game is developed by Happy Nation, and will be available at http://cueonline.gamescampus.com/ later this spring. Cue Online focuses on competitive billiards games like straight pool, nine-ball, eight-ball, carom and three-cushion billiards.

“Adding a high quality sports game such as Cue Online to our online game lineup is very much in keeping with our corporate commitment to the sports gaming genre,” said David Chang, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for GamesCampus.com. “Cue Online’s truly realistic pool experience is the result of Happy Nation’s years spent designing an engine that captures the most realistic ball movement possible. With an amazing straight line of sight aiming to the ball, precision strokes, and an extensive training and skills system, Cue Online is an online pool experience like no other.”

Happy Nation’s exclusive engine was designed to create as realistic of an environment as possible. Each ball’s movement will depend on each player’s style, including stroke power, table contact, spin and strike quality with other balls, the cloth friction of the table and more. Thanks to the development team’s many years of research and development in optimizing the physics of the game play, even the most demanding and skilled players will be impressed with the realism of their shots when playing Cue Online, when compared to their experience on a real-life pool table.

Cue Online offers five different skills that players can increase and improve upon while training. The game’s skills include: Power, Spin, Push, Pull and Masse. Unlike other games where players automatically increase their skills as their average scores increase, Cue Online players will see their skills improve only after they successfully use that skill over time. As a result, two players in the same average score can have different main skills of their own, just like in the real life pool play.

GamesCampus is scheduled to begin the closed beta of Cue Online on March 30 and the open beta in late April.

For more information about Cue Online visit http://cueonline.gamescampus.com/.
