Gamereactor launched in English!

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008
The largest Nordic gaming publication joins the International scene

Copenhagen, 3 September The largest games magazine and website in the Nordic region Gamereactor, have launched Gamereactor International – www.gamereactor.eu – in English. The website features an English version of the magazine (pdf), a news blog with a special interest in the Nordic gaming industry, and all the latest English programmes from GRTV.
Heading up the new international effort is long-time editor of Gamereactor Sweden, Bengt Lemne.

- The ambition of creating an English version of Gamereactor has been there for a while. But it has been hard to find a fitting place in the smorgasbord of international gaming sites out there. I feel that our mix of well produced video programmes from GRTV, news and blogging from a Northern European perspective and the pdf magazine add something to the rich selection of gaming sites out there, comments Bengt Lemne, editor of Gamereactor International.

Taking advantage of decades worth of experience from the editors in all four countries Gamereactor can hardly be said to be a complete newcomer. With the growing success of Nordic game developers such as Avalanche Studios (Just Cause), CCP Games (Eve Online), Deadline Games (Total Overdose, Watchmen), Digital Illusions (Battlefield, Mirror’s Edge), Funcom (Age of Conan, Dreamfall), Grin (Bionic Commando, GRAW), IO Interactive (Hitman, Kane & Lynch), Massive Entertainment (Ground Control, World in Conflict), Paradox Interactive (Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron), Remedy Entertainment (Alan Wake, Max Payne), Starbreeze Studios (The Chronicles of Riddick, The Darkness) as well as a multitude of smaller and up and coming companies, it is only fitting that there should also be an English website originating from this region.

Apart from the exciting first edition, or pilot, of the pdf magazine, that is available for download now, there will also be plenty of GRTV content published this week. From an interview with the lead designer of Diablo III Jay Wilson, to an update with Funcom’s Erling Ellingsen on the status of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and a couple of interviews on Call of Duty: World at War this promises to be a strong week for GRTV. A walkthrough of one new level shown off at Games Convention as well as the create and share components of Little Big Planet with level designer Craig Kerrison and an interview on the upcoming Wii exclusive House of the Dead: Overkill are already available for viewing.
