Gatheryn Hosts In-Game Ice Cream Social For Active Beta Users

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

This afternoon at 3pm PDT, active Gatheryn beta testers will have the opportunity to participate in Gatheryn’s first community event, The Elymia Ice Cream Social. The Ice Cream social is open only to active beta testers, but more events will be scheduled, and more users welcomed into the beta in the weeks to come. Don’t miss out on the fun and excitement of Gatheryn community events – register for the beta at http://www.mindfusegames.com.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other Elymians and exercise Gatheryn’s social functionality by comparing clothing ensembles, adding others to their Friends List, or playing a game of checkers. Members of the Mindfuse staff will also be in attendance to answer questions about Elymian life and listen to feedback from users on what they like in the game, and what they’d like to see changed.

Ice cream will be distributed to all attendees as an in-game item 3 times during the event – at 3:00, 3:30 and 4:00. Using ice cream is a good way to test out Gatheryn’s newly implemented health system as a single serving completely cures all fatigue. No RSVP is required for active users. The event will take place in Westpark, just outside the Broken Anchor Pub, in the Western portion of the city.

Warriors– Get Ready for New Content Next Month with All-New PVP Gameplay and A New Region to Explore!

True Games announced that it is preparing the first expansion of new content and features for its recently launched MMORPG, Warrior Epic (www.warriorepic.com). The new expansion is scheduled to launch in July and will include all-new PVP gameplay that will be available to players who are level ten or higher. In addition, the expansion will also offer an all-new mid to high level region, “Trogken Swamps”, which will feature tons of new missions, monsters, and unique gear for your Warriors.

“Our promise to the Warrior Epic community is that the game will never get stale or repetitive,” said Peter Cesario, Director of Product and Business Development at True Games. “We want Warrior Epic fans to find something new and exciting about the game every time they login, and this new expansion is just one of many great gameplay updates they can look forward to as the community continues to grow.”

Warrior Epic is an online, action role-playing game set in an original fantasy universe. In the game, players will assume command of a Warrior Hall from which they manage their characters’ adventures. They can recruit from a wide array of Warrior Classes, each with its own style of play. The Classes and the Hall itself can be upgraded visually as well as functionally. Players adventure together in multiplayer campaigns, adventure mode, solo quests and soon, PVP.

One of the most unique aspects of Warrior Epic is that death does not mean the end of a warrior. Instead, it opens totally new and strategic options for players. The game’s unique Warrior Spirits System enables fallen warriors to not only be revived at any time at their hall, but also to be transformed into Spirits that can be bound to weapons to increase and open weapon abilities and skills, or they can be called out to inflict massive damage depending on player needs.

Marry for Love or Power with new Wedding System

NDOORS Interactive today announced the debut of a new social feature in their acclaimed MMORPG Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu. Starting today, players will have the ability to get married in the game. The new wedding system will allow two willing parties to tie the virtual knot and have their union officially recognized in-game. A marriage in Luminary will bestow benefits upon the couple, as some will marry for love and others will marry for political alliances.

In order to wed in Luminary, players can simply travel to the church west of Trania, where at least one party has to make their marriage proposal. Both boy and girl characters must obtain a Marriage License and be unmarried for the proposal to be executed. Once these conditions are met, the two parties will agree on a date and time for their wedding.

On the day of their wedding, the newlyweds will be teleported inside of the church where the ceremony will be carried out by the Wedding NPC. The bride and groom will receive a temporary gown and tuxedo, with a Flower Crown for the bride. Several questions will be asked of the couple by the Wedding NPC, and the bride and groom may answer freely. While the wedding ceremony takes place, news of the nuptials will be scrolled across the bottom of the game.

The wedding is just the beginning of married life and it will take effort from the bride and groom to maintain a happy union. Purchasing a Pink Rose from Clara will award the married couple with Affection Points, which in turn will bestow an added bonus to status effects. After a couple has been successfully married for 1 year (12 days game-time), they can celebrate their anniversary and the couple will receive a gift.

Luminary is a free-to-play MMORPG that incorporates real-world politics and economics. Players are citizens of the Luminary world who not only battle monsters, but engage in the production of new goods, trade commodities, stocks, and real estate, and even hire NPCs. Additionally, a player can advance to the pinnacle of success, the GoonZu, by being elected by his gaming peers.

IGG Affirms Rights to ToP Online Publishing Rights

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Regarding recent controversy on IGG’s forum over online publishing rights for Tales of Pirates, the ToP team (http://top.igg.com) from IGG has released an announcement concerning the issue.

Recently, reports have been coming in from ToP players about websites claiming to have obtained the online publishing rights to Tales of Pirates from the game developer Moliyo. Here and now, both IGG and Moliyo would like to state jointly that these claims are completely false.

The copyrights to the online game Tales of Pirates belong to its developer, Moliyo. IGG signed an agreement with Moliyo to secure the exclusive online publishing rights for North America. The only other company to secure online publishing rights for ToP was Sing-Gium, who secured the rights to Southeast Asia for their game – Pirates King Online. Moliyo has never licensed any other English versions of the game to anyone. If any players come across a company or an individual claiming they have secured the rights to the game or permission from Moliyo, they are infringing on Moliyo’s copyrights and committing fraud and they will be punished.

Cronous Popularity Surges in Taiwan

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Rapidly approaching goal of 10,000 CCU

Lizard Interactive’s globally played fantasy MMORPG title Cronous successfully officially opened service in Taiwan on May 20 with the number of concurrent users quickly reaching over 5,000. The Taiwanese online game market is one of the most competitive markets in the world with new games constantly being launched. Lizard Interactive CEO Sang Wook Lee commented, “The successful launch of Cronous was largely due to the innovative and extensive marketing and promotional strategies of XtraVision Entertainment, Lizard Interactive’s publisher for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao”.

In order to ensure that XtraVision encountered no unexpected problems, Lizard Interactive sent a team of programmers to assist on site before and after the launch. This decision paid off as the number of users surged and four additional servers had to be installed quickly to accommodate them.

XtraVision Entertainment Chairman Victor Wu commented, “Originally, we had planned for 9 servers, but due to the overwhelming number of users, 4 servers were added. We plan to continue to add servers as the number of users increase and are confident that we will reach our goal of 10,000 concurrent users for Cronous.

XtraVision Entertainment signed a publishing agreement for the game portal NeoFun.com operated by Lizard Interactive and its games in January of this year. There was extensive localization of Cronous for the Taiwan market for four months before its launch on May 20 with a new name for the Taiwanese market as Crusades 2. XtraVision is now preparing the launch of two more MMORPGs, Sho Online and Land of Magic in the second half of this year.

Nvinium Games Inc. Launches First Expansion Game of UnforgivenWar

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Nvinium Games Inc. announced the alpha launch of UW-WWII. The popular text based MMORPG UnforgivenWar has begun the first in its series of UWMultiVerse expansion games. UW-WWII is a full stand-alone game that is based upon the historical events of the World War II time period that connects to the existing UnforgivenWar to give the community multiple options of game play.
Set in the year 2012, the Large Hadron Collider has created the first mini “black hole, which inadvertently creates a rip in the space-time continuum. This allows the current world to see forward and back in time and also allows our world to travel at least to one time period. That time period is circa 1939 at the beginning of World War II. Germany is struggling with a massive depression and the people have lost hope. Self-proclaimed leader, Adolf Hitler, has plans to consolidate the fractured government while quickly and ruthlessly taking control of the countries that surround. He secretly establishes an axis of other countries to become close partners in the quest to dominate the world. The community of UnforgivenWar may choose to move back to that period to become an Ally or Axis and build their characters and armies in addition to continuing to battle in today’s time.

The ability for multiple games to be tied to one massive community is very different and new in the MMOPRG text game market. UnforgivenWar is not only allowing users to play in different games from one user base but the “world communities” are tied together with its own unique global chat system that allows all the communities to see what is happening instantly. With over 131,000 players in UnforgivenWar, the ability to allow those users to “move between games” effortlessly makes the game community even more challenging, entertaining and versatile. According to Matt Abrams CEO of Nvinium Games Inc., “Our platform is unique in the world of text based MMORPG’s, this expansion has extended the options for game play far beyond the already existing distinctive features such as the mobile text community.”
