Following series of triumphs, Realview Innovations brings patented “Depth-Enhancing Technology” to E3

Bridging the Gap Between 2D and 3D for More Immersive Gaming

Following a highly successful debut at CES in Las Vegas and an award winning presence at Retail Vision in London, RealView Innovations will officially introduce its patented “Depth-Enhancing Technology” to the video game industry at E3 June 15-17 in Los Angeles. As a developer of optical screen technology, RealView bridges the gap between 2D and 3D, offering gamers a more immersive viewing experience by enhancing depth cues hidden in existing screen images.

RealView’s Depth-Enhancing Technology will be on display at E3 in the form of several new products including the V-Screen for Sony® PSP™, the Deep Screen for large displays and monitors as well as accessories for iPhone™ and iTouch™.

RealView launched the V-Screen for PSP earlier this year at CES, receiving tremendous critical praise. RealView’s technology was referred to as one of the “Hottest Gadgets” by numerous media outlets including the Washington Post, CBS News and ABC News. RealView was then awarded overall “Best in Show” at this year’s Retail Vision Europe, a major accomplishment for a company that is a new player in the world of optical technology and home entertainment.

RealView’s Depth-Enhancing Technology bridges the gap between 2D and 3D by enhancing hidden depth cues in 2D images, creating greater depth and richer environments than standard 2D. The most significant aspect of this technology is that no glasses or special software are required. It is ready-to-use with any existing content like movies and games.

“RealView is very excited to be exhibiting at E3 for the first time,” stated Eamonn Ansbro, RealView’s Executive Director. “We are launching several iterations of our depth-enhancing technology this year and E3 is the perfect venue to share it with the video game industry. Our technology presents unique advantages when compared to other products in the 3D space, particularly in terms of low cost, ease of use, and its ability to enhance existing TV, movie, sports and game content. And it doesn’t require cumbersome glasses or software of any kind.”

Smule’s Glee app is doing well, are you using it?

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Users of Smule’s newest app, Glee, appear to be committed. Everytime you post a song you made on Facebook, Twitter, or email and someone likes it, you get a “Gleek” – Glee-speak for fan. Thirty-five-year-old Harrison Wolohon of Oklahoma City and seventeen-year-old Amy Vo of Melbourne, Australia currently top the Gleek earner charts with 1,300 and 1,630 gleeks respectively.

“I’m a big fan of Smule, and a musician, so Glee is a great app for me.” Said Harrison Wolohon. “I see the app as an instrument that accompanies my voice, and I’m amazed that I can generate three-part harmonies from my voice in real-time, and broadcast my recordings around the globe.”

“I’m a bit obsessed with the Glee app, to be honest, and I use it multiple times a day”, said Amy Vo. “I love that the app makes my voice sound great, and that I can see how close to perfect pitch I get by watching the number of stars that float on the screen while I’m singing.” http://glee.smule.com/song/solo/1563

To reward all of the top Gleek earners, Smule has unlocked a free song in the Glee app, “Gives You Hell”, for all Glee users with 50 or more Gleeks.

The App provides real-time pitch correction while you sing. It also creates magical multi-part harmonies from your solo voice. Even better, you can join the song of friends, the cast of Glee, or even strangers. To date, users have joined together on over 150,000 songs. Here are some featured performances:

Telltale Games Kicks Off New Game Pilot Program to Foster Innovation

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

First look and pre-order for inaugural Puzzle Agent pilot now online at http://www.puzzleagent.com

Telltale Games, the leading independent digital publisher and developer of episodic interactive entertainment, announced today the creation of their new Pilot Program. With this program, Telltale can bring creative and innovative ideas to market more quickly through game “pilots,” similar to the entertainment industry’s television pilots. Through this program Telltale’s internal studios will explore new video game concepts, content and play patterns to complement the publisher’s current episodic projects. Successful pilots will be considered for migration to the company’s highly successful episodic gaming model.

“The Pilot Program is an excellent way to expand the boundaries of interactive entertainment and gaming by bringing audiences unique and interesting content they might not see otherwise,” said Telltale CEO, Dan Connors. “Our internal teams are filled with incredibly talented and creative people, and the Pilot Program will foster the exploration of ideas that will help us evolve Telltale’s product offerings.”

The first title in Telltale’s Pilot Program is Puzzle Agent. The title combines accessible Professor Layton-inspired puzzling with generous doses of Nordic folklore, enigmatic gnomes, and dark David Lynch and Coen brothers sensibilities. Puzzle Agent releases in June on PC, Apple Macintosh, iPhone/iPod touch, iPad and Nintendo Wii.

Telltale is creating Puzzle Agent in partnership with Graham Annable, the company’s first art director at the time of its founding. Players take on the role of Nelson Tethers, the lead (and only) agent in the US Department of Puzzle Investigation, sent on a rare field assignment to Scoggins, Minnesota to investigate why output at the town’s eraser factory has come to a screeching halt. The title combines brainteasers that include mazes, puzzles, logic and riddles, intertwined with an engrossing, twisted mystery story – all presented with Graham’s unique narrative and visual sensibilities and the distinctive Telltale style.

“It’s been great re-uniting with Telltale,” comments Annable. “It’s amazing to see how they’ve faithfully captured my art style and mood in the game. Working with the team to bring Nelson Tethers and Puzzle Agent to life has been amazing. Combining the original story and characters with one of my favorite gameplay styles is like a dream come true.”

Puzzle Agent pre-orders for PC and Mac are now available at http://www.puzzleagent.com for $9.95. All who pre-order will receive a coupon for 50% off any products in the Telltale Games store, including merchandise like Graham Annable’s new Book of Grickle from Dark Horse Comics, the full season of Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse, and more. Full pre-order details are available on the Puzzle Agent website. Purchase options for additional platforms will be available in the near future.
