And in the spirit of gift buying procrastination, we present the top five myths of last-minute holiday shopping!

Myth #1: Waiting until the last minute is a bad idea

Wrong. Thanks to the wonders the current digital era, anything one could ever want or need is just a click away.

The Telltale Store, for example, has a wide variety of digital content available for purchase, ready for instant giving. Our lineup of episodic games are short, story-driven experiences available on PC that feature mind-bending puzzles, humor, and unforgettable characters. The best part? With digital presents, there’s no need to worry about shipping hassles or added costs, plus each holiday gift comes with an attractive coupon you can print out, email, or include in a festive Christmas card.

Myth #2: There’s no way I can find all my gifts in one place

Totally false. We know you cringe at the thought of spending even one second in a jam-packed mall after hours, listlessly shuffling from store to store looking for gifts that “fit the individual.” Guess what! The Telltale Store is your one-stop online shop for everyone on your list, and it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week!

For comedy lovers, we have two full seasons of Sam & Max, the freelance police team featuring an anthropomorphic dog and hyper-kinetic rabbity thing. Would-be swashbucklers will enjoy Tales of Monkey Island, our five episode series brimming with pirate adventure, intrigue, humor and plenty of monkeys. Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People is the perfect present for fans of inane Internet humor, luche libre masks, and 80s metal.

Myth #3: Finding good gifts within my budget it too difficult. And it’ll cost a fortune to express ship at this point!

Well, this one is kind of true. Thankfully Telltale swoops in to save the day again with our buying guide, which breaks down product prices to suit anyone’s pocket book.

Having trouble finding that perfect white elephant gift under $10? Individual episodes from each of our game series are available for $8.95 each. Buyers with a bit more cash can purchase full-season game bundles like Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventure or either of the Sam & Max seasons for under 30 bucks! And digital gifts are delivered instantly over the Internet. No shipping costs!

Myth #4: I can’t get a good deal this close to Christmas!

Amazing deals are to be had at – you guessed it – the Telltale Store!

Now through Christmas Eve, gift buyers can take 10% off of purchases $50 and above. Plus, if you’ve been hoarding your Telltale product coupons, now is the perfect (last) time to use them before they expire on Dec. 31st!

Myth #5: If I don’t buy a good gift, my friends and family will stop loving me

Not true! WE’LL love you!

(Disclaimer: Telltale Games’ love redeemable after store purchase of $10 or more)

Telltale and Aardman’s Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures Debuts on Xbox LIVE Arcade

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Telltale also introduces individual Wallace & Gromit PC episode purchase options

Telltale’s first episodic game for Xbox LIVE® Arcade, Wallace & Gromit: Fright of the Bumblebees has released worldwide. The first of four episodes comprising Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures, the English language game is available for 800 Microsoft points and includes subtitles in German, French and Spanish.

The Xbox LIVE Arcade release brings Fright of the Bumblebees to the living room where players can enjoy the interactive experience in the same comfy environment as a Wallace & Gromit film. Since its first release on PC, Fright of the Bumblebees has been well very received, with acclaim from outlets including London’s Sunday Times, which stated: “There’s enough mechanical madness, gentle humour and, of course, ripe cheese to please the most ardent fans.” IGN honored the episode with an Editor’s Choice Award, saying, “Telltale nails the look and feel of a Wallace & Gromit short film.”

In Fright of the Bumblebees, scatterbrained inventor Wallace and his crafty canine companion Gromit embark on a new honey enterprise, “From Bee to You.” When demand out-steps supply, Wallace tries to boost his worker bees’ production using a home-brewed growth formula-with comically disastrous results. Playing as both Wallace and Gromit, you must unravel the mess and restore order to the duo’s quiet Northern England neighbourhood.

The next three episodes of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures will launch on Xbox LIVE Arcade in the coming months. Telltale’s acclaimed Sam & Max games are also coming soon to Xbox LIVE Arcade.

Telltale is also announcing that the PC versions of Fright of the Bumblebees and the second Wallace & Gromit episode, The Last Resort, are now available for individual purchase for $8.95 at http://www.telltalegames.com. These were previously only available in a $34.95 series bundle. As with Telltale’s other series, customers who buy one Wallace & Gromit episode for PC will be able to upgrade to the full season for $26.

Join Wallace & Gromit in The Last Resort, the Newest Game from Telltale and Aardman

Crafty inventor and canine companion ready for beach holiday, even if the English weather isn’t

Telltale and Aardman are announcing the release of The Last Resort, the latest of four monthly Wallace & Gromit games that open up the world of West Wallaby Street like never before. “The Last Resort” is available today for PC from www.telltalegames.com as part of the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures series. The games will also be coming soon to Xbox LIVE Arcade.

Telltale’s Wallace & Gromit games are like interactive films, with humorous storylines and creative characters conceived in collaboration with Aardman’s award-winning team. In the new episode, Wallace and Gromit’s Blackpool holiday is rained out, so the enterprising inventor and his clever dog bring the beach to their basement with the construction of West Wallaby Waterworld, a makeshift resort complete with sun, sand, and Wallace’s homemade boardwalk attractions. Keeping their guests satisfied turns out to be tricky business, particularly after one is thumped on the head by an unknown assailant. Everyone is a suspect! Now Wallace and Gromit must work together to finger the culprit, with a little help from Wallace’s latest invention: the Deductomatic.

Customers can purchase the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures series from www.telltalegames.com, and the first two episodes, Fright of the Bumblebees and The Last Resort, will be delivered digitally with their checkout. The full series purchase from Telltale also includes the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures Collector’s DVD, containing the four games plus bonus content for just the cost of shipping shortly after the finale episode. The third and fourth Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures episodes will release for PC in June and July.

Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures launched in March to rave reviews, with Yahoo! Games UK calling the premiere episode “Wallace and Gromit’s finest and best looking video game outing to date.” IGN awarded the episode with its coveted Editor’s Choice Award, saying, “Telltale nails the look and feel of a Wallace & Gromit short film.”

The four-episode Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures series sells for $34.95 (approx £24). To purchase the game, visit http://www.telltalegames.com/wallaceandgromit.

WiiWare Sales of Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People Double with New Wii Storage Solution

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Telltale CEO: “This is a major step forward for episodic gaming.”

Telltale has announced that WiiWare sales of Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, the first monthly episodic series on a console, have more than doubled since Nintendo’s new storage solution was unveiled at the Game Developer’s Conference in March. The Strong Bad series began releasing episodically on WiiWare in August 2008.

“Nintendo’s new solution really opens the door for players to add to their collection of downloadable games, which is critical for a series with multiple installments,” says Telltale CEO Dan Connors. “This is a major step forward for episodic gaming. We’re looking forward to even greater success on WiiWare with Strong Bad, as well as other projects.”

Like a TV series, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People is best enjoyed when the full five episode “season” is played in its entirety. Nintendo’s new option to play WiiWare games directly from high-density SD cards gives customers a convenient way to enjoy this full-season experience.

Starring Strong Bad, the self-proclaimed “coolest person ever,” and the rest of the characters from the popular Homestarrunner.com website, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People is a series of comedy games that play like interactive cartoons. Each episode features a unique storyline penned by series creators Mike and Matt Chapman and the writers of Telltale’s award-winning Sam & Max series. Arcade-style mini games, achievements, and the ability to email Wii friends from Strong Bad’s laptop complete the experience.

The Strong Bad games can be downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel for 1,000 points each. For more information on Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People on WiiWare, visit http://www.telltalegames.com/strongbad/wiiware. The series is also available for PC from Telltale’s website.

Telltale’s episodic offerings are expanding to Xbox LIVE Arcade this spring with Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures. Hopefully this news means that they will port W&G GA to Wii eventually.

Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures, A New Comedy Game Series from Aardman Animations and Telltale, Premieres Today

First of four monthly, digitally-distributed episodes now available from www.telltalegames.com

Make a nice cuppa and settle into your favorite chair for Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures, a new game series debuting today at http://www.telltalegames.com. “Fright of the Bumblebees,” the first of four digitally-distributed games starring the popular Plasticine duo, is available now. Subsequent installments will be delivered in May, June, and July.

Wallace and Gromit, the well-meaning but accident-prone inventor and his capable and highly-intelligent canine companion, have been delighting audiences with their animated adventures for twenty years. Their most recent outing, Wallace & Gromit in A Matter of Loaf and Death, aired with record-setting viewership this past Christmas. Telltale’s Wallace & Gromit games are designed for the same all-ages crowd as the films, and will be appreciated by gamers and non-gamers alike.

Alternating between the roles of both Wallace and Gromit throughout the game, players will banter with a charismatic cast of characters, tinker with Wallace’s creative contraptions, and enjoy four all-new stories set in the colorful Wallace & Gromit universe. Given the franchise’s global appeal, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures includes subtitles in German, French, Italian, and Spanish. In today’s debut episode, “Fright of the Bumblebees,” Wallace attempts to save his bumbling honey business through the growth of supersized flowers. When these giant flowers lead to an unintended consequence, giant bees, Gromit must step in to save the town from the angry swarm.

Sean Clarke, Head of Aardman Rights said: “The partnership with Telltale was a natural one. Their talent for crafting engaging adventures with humour and charm fits well with the Wallace & Gromit style, and the four games of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures make excellent new additions to the series.”

To celebrate the series premiere, Telltale is offering the full series on PC for the limited-time special price of $29.95 (approx. GBP21), a 15% savings on the regular price of $34.95 (approx. GBP24). During the launch week, customers who purchase Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures will also get an amazing 50% discount on all other items in Telltale’s store, including the acclaimed Sam & Max games, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, and related merchandise. These special offers expire March 29.

Xbox LIVE joins PC and Wii as new channel for “gaming’s first sitcom”

The dog and rabbity-thing stars of Telltale’s popular episodic games are one step closer to world domination today with the announcement that the first two “seasons” of Sam & Max will be appearing on Xbox LIVE Arcade. This is the award-winning comedy duo’s first appearance on the Xbox 360, as well as on a connected console download service. Worldwide PC and Wii retail releases of the second season are also upcoming.

These approaching releases will sport catchy new monikers to more closely tie the season titles with their respective story arcs. Season One, which takes the Freelance Police from the New York City streets to Washington D.C. and all the way to the moon on the trail of a hypnotic nemesis, will be dubbed Sam & Max Save the World for all new releases moving forward. Season Two, which involves a baffling series of time paradoxes at the hands of unconventional aliens, has been renamed Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space. The Xbox LIVE Arcade releases will carry these new titles, as will Atari’s 2009 retail versions of the second season.

“With Sam & Max coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade and the approaching retail launch, we’re reaching a larger audience than we ever have before,” says Telltale CEO Dan Connors. “These new releases give us an opportunity to better communicate the imaginative stories that make the Sam & Max games so special, and to strengthen the unique identity of each season.”

Both Sam & Max seasons will be released on Xbox LIVE Arcade as full-season bundles, providing instant gratification to players who have been eagerly waiting for the Freelance Police to appear on Microsoft’s console. The second Sam & Max season — which recently received Best Adventure Game accolades from IGN and PC Gamer and took home five Aggie Awards, including Best Comedy Writing, Best Gameplay, and Game of the Year from Adventure Gamers — is also scheduled to hit retail for PC and Wii in the coming months.

Today’s news follows Telltale’s recent announcement that the highly anticipated new series, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures, is leading the company’s expansion to Xbox LIVE Arcade. Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures first screens

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Email is finally working, and first one through is from Telltale Games about Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures. Nothing on the format other than “a series of interactive Wallace and Gromit stories launching in 2009, with players assuming the roles of both the quirky inventor and his faithful canine companion”. Sounds episodic. No details on the platforms yet, but since they used the plural as far as platforms, you can bet it’ll be the PC and…..

Here’s screens and concept art, thank you guys for your patience on the mail outage!
