Nvinium Games Inc. Launches First Expansion Game of UnforgivenWar

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Nvinium Games Inc. announced the alpha launch of UW-WWII. The popular text based MMORPG UnforgivenWar has begun the first in its series of UWMultiVerse expansion games. UW-WWII is a full stand-alone game that is based upon the historical events of the World War II time period that connects to the existing UnforgivenWar to give the community multiple options of game play.
Set in the year 2012, the Large Hadron Collider has created the first mini “black hole, which inadvertently creates a rip in the space-time continuum. This allows the current world to see forward and back in time and also allows our world to travel at least to one time period. That time period is circa 1939 at the beginning of World War II. Germany is struggling with a massive depression and the people have lost hope. Self-proclaimed leader, Adolf Hitler, has plans to consolidate the fractured government while quickly and ruthlessly taking control of the countries that surround. He secretly establishes an axis of other countries to become close partners in the quest to dominate the world. The community of UnforgivenWar may choose to move back to that period to become an Ally or Axis and build their characters and armies in addition to continuing to battle in today’s time.

The ability for multiple games to be tied to one massive community is very different and new in the MMOPRG text game market. UnforgivenWar is not only allowing users to play in different games from one user base but the “world communities” are tied together with its own unique global chat system that allows all the communities to see what is happening instantly. With over 131,000 players in UnforgivenWar, the ability to allow those users to “move between games” effortlessly makes the game community even more challenging, entertaining and versatile. According to Matt Abrams CEO of Nvinium Games Inc., “Our platform is unique in the world of text based MMORPG’s, this expansion has extended the options for game play far beyond the already existing distinctive features such as the mobile text community.”

Text based games proving a cornerstone to successful communities

December 29th, 2008 (San Anslemo, CA) – Nvinium Games, Inc. announced today that its free to play text based browser game, Unforgivenwar, has received over 100,000 player registrations since the start of its Beta Testing Phase. It has become one of the fastest growing MMORPG communities on the web. As many as 2900 people are actively playing the game and interacting with each other daily. Nvinium Games, recently launched the Unforgivenwar game application to work on both the Facebook and MySpace Community Platforms.

The key to the success for Unforgivenwar lies not only in its depth of game play, but more importantly in the Community interaction with each other, as well as the real time support given by the Unforgivenwar Support Team.

“Unlike most text based games, our utilization of technology such as real time chat allows both members and guests to see activity in the community. This interaction makes the game much more exciting than simple static forums,” said Matt Abrams, CEO of Nvinium Games.

Text based games have seen a major increase in popularity over the past 12 months and have proven to be an important part of social networking communities. “Web based, community networking games are really the next major wave of the Web 2.0 Social System, and games such as
Unforgivenwar.com are proving that through continued rapid growth,” stated social network visionary Joe Abrams Chairman, Nvinium Games. Abrams is well known for Co-Founding Euniverse (Intermix), the predecessor company to Myspace, as well as the Co-Founder of The Software Toolworks which was one of the largest game publishers in the 90′s.

Unforgivenwar is now positioning itself to reach an even greater number of players as it enters its final phase of beta testing. Players can participate in the ongoing Beta Testing of Unforgivenwar by registering at the official site http://unforgivenwar.com.

Some more web-based MMOs for you guys to check out

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Well, I’m not gonna ignore that people are looking at the posts for the Nvinium games, and I’ve had a couple direct questions about web or “text-based” MMO games. I have not played any of these, but I asked around and Googled for a few, here’s the ones I heard the most good about:

Trukz: http://www.trukz.com
Tibia: http://www.tibia.com/
Bite Fight: http://www.bitefight.org/
Knight Fight: http://www.knightfight.co.uk/
Travian: http://www.travian.com/
Fallen Sword: http://www.fallensword.com/
Annihilation X: http://www.annihilationx.com/
Biocidecity: http://www.biocidecity.com/
Agamemnon, Kings of England Online Adventure Game http://www.agamemnon-rpg.com/ (text-based)
Forum Warz: http://www.forumwarz.com/  (Adult language, situations)
Dragon Tavern: http://www.dragontavern.com
Cyber Nations: http://www.cybernations.net/
Urban Dead: http://www.urbandead.com/
Materia Magica: http://www.materiamagica.com/ (text-based)
DartMUD: http://www.dartmud.com/ (text-based)
Achaea: http://www.achaea.com/main.php (text-based)
eRepublik: http://www.erepublik.com/en
Medevia: http://www.medievia.com/
Utopia: http://utopia.swirve.com/index.php
Avalon: the Legend Lives: http://www.avalon-rpg.com/ (text-based)
Samurai of Legend: http://samuraioflegend.com/login.php (text-based)

Portals:

OnRPG http://www.onrpg.com
Play.net: http://www.play.net/
IGG.com: http://www.igg.com
Outspark: http://www.outspark.com

Most of these are 100% free, some are free with microtransactions, and some are “try us and pay later” games. I found 2 portals that have some text-based mmo’s, and I included IGG and Outspark, as they have some really good client-download MMOs that are free to play, but do require a download and installation. I tested all the links, they are all working and current. I was passed a couple games that were not even active and I don’t post dead links if i can help it. I may give one of these a whirl if time allows this weekend, if you play any of these, let the world know about it in the comments.

Ramblings about Text-MMORPGs and microtransactions

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Well, it appears there’s a lot more interest in Text-based MMOs than I realized. I didn’t even know there was a publisher of one, until I received news from Nvinium. Seems some people are huge fans here. I also see there is a couple detractors. I have not played these games, but the things I see negative about the games is the same thing I usually hear is a _positive_ for other free MMOs: microtransactions. I’ve played a few MMOs from IGG, and they have a microtransaction system, you can get the ultra-cool weapon, or even food that makes your “pet” like you more (very handy actually), but you don’t NEED these items to get further in the game, they would just make life easier if you chose to get them. So, just for the heck of it, I’m gonna post a poll:

[polldaddy poll=1178927]

I’ll post the results after Christmas.
