Rock Band DLC offers some Wii Nirvana

ROCK BAND Wii OWNERS GET SEVEN TRACKS FROM NIRVANA

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of seven tracks from alternative grunge band Nirvana to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content for Wii home videogame console from Nintendo.

The lineup includes seven master recordings from Nirvana’s 1991 album Nevermind including “Breed,” “Lounge Act,” “On a Plain,” “Polly,” “Something in the Way,” “Stay Away,” and “Territorial Pissings.” These tracks join “In Bloom” from the original Rock Band soundtrack and “Drain You” featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack to make for a total of nine Nirvana songs available in the Rock Band music catalog available to Wii owners.

This week’s offering comes from the Rock Band® Music Store catalog of downloadable content already released to owners of Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PS3 computer entertainment system. Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content until the entire back catalogue of more than 570 songs is available. In addition, the regularly scheduled future DLC releases for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system will also be available for Rock Band 2 Wii owners soon.

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of seven new tracks from progressive rock band Rush to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content for Wii home videogame console from Nintendo.

The lineup features master recordings from Rush’s most successful album, Moving Pictures (1981), including “Tom Sawyer,” “Red Barchetta,” “YYZ” and “Limelight.” Other tracks include “The Camera Eye,” “Witch Hunt” and “Vital Signs.”

This week’s offering comes from the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content already released to owners of Xbox 360 and PS3. Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content until the entire back catalogue of more than 550 songs is available. Harmonix and MTV Games announced the addition of six new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content for Wii home videogame console from Nintendo. The line up features four tracks from classic rock band Boston including “Hitch a Ride,” “Peace of Mind,” “Smokin’” and “Something About You.”

In addition to the Boston tracks Rock Band 2 Wii fans will also gain access to”Hanging on the Telephone” by Blondie and “Dirty Little Secret” from All-American Rejects.

All six tracks are part of the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content already released to owners of Xbox 360 and PS3. Snowboard Riot Combines Snowboarding and Combat into One Exciting WiiWare Experience

Hudson Entertainment announced that Snowboard Riot, a snowboarding experience unlike any other snowboarding game players have ever encountered, is now available for WiiWare. Snowboarding will reach new heights when players take to the slopes with action-packed racing utilizing weapons such as homing bullets and invisibility!

Gamers have several control options to carve their way to a dominating victory, via the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or the Wii Balance Board. Just like a real snowboard, players can lean left and right on the Wii Balance Board, providing a realistic snowboard experience. Boarders can also choose from four characters to bomb the slopes with, and can customize their look with Oakley apparel and goggles to improve their performance.

After practicing with a friend in 2-player local multiplayer, gamers can use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to compete with up to 4 snowboarders online as they race and blow away the competition. Weapons such as mines and turbo are available to give players an edge fighting it out on the mountain.

Marble Saga: Koroinpa teaser released today!

Hudson Entertainment released a new teaser for Marble Saga: Kororinpa, coming for the Nintendo Wii later this spring. Marble Saga: Kororinpa, an exciting puzzle adventure centering around a marble, features a variety of levels for gamers to explore, 4-person multiplayer gameplay, tons of customization features, the ability to connect and compete online and the use of the Wii Balance Board as features.

The story takes place with players heading out on a journey with Anthony the Ant as he searches for the Golden Sunflower. By guiding Anthony’s marble around the Ant World and searching for items which are valuable to help reach the Golden Sunflower, gamers will help Anthony save his colony.

Along the way players will face dangerous mazes and use cool and amazing widgets and gadgets to guide Anthony to his objective. With multiple levels to explore and three difficulty stages within each level, no area is ever the same.

Unique features in Marble Saga: Kororinpa allow fun customization for players. From designing the ball with attributes to helping players navigate through stages easier, to MiisT and preset fun images, to an Edit Mode which allows for custom design of a unique stage, gamers can really make this entertaining experience their own. For a more competitive tone, a 4-person multiplayer mode allows players to compete with three other opponents on the same map as each races to the finish line. For more customization and group fun with others, the Wii Connect 24 feature allows gamers to share the unique stages they created with their friends or to receive extra stages from Hudson after the game’s launch via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
