Ancients of Ooga coming to Xbox Live Arcade

NinjaBee and J. Kenworthy Entertainment, the creative team that envisioned and developed Cloning Clyde for Xbox LIVE Arcade, revealed today the title of their next XBLA game – Ancients of Ooga. Along with this announcement the developers also unveiled the first piece of concept art from the upcoming title.

“Ever since we released Cloning Clyde we’ve been bombarded with requests for a sequel,” said John Nielson, founder of J. Kenworthy Entertainment. “Although Ancients of Ooga is not a sequel to Cloning Clyde, it is what we like to call a spiritual successor because of how heavy an influence Cloning Clyde had on its creation. Just like Cloning Clyde, Ancients of Ooga is going to bring originality, humor, its own unique artistic style, and extremely creative gameplay to Xbox Live Arcade.”

Cloning Clyde was originally released in July of 2006. No release date has yet been announced for Ancients of Ooga.

Atari today announced that one of the biggest summer blockbuster videogames, Ghostbusters: The Video Game is now available on XBOX Live and the PlayStation Network.

Players can act as the new recruit alongside the original team, and take a sneak peek into the library level. In addition, test a variety of the unique equipment and gadgets, to track, wrangle and trap this wide range of awe-inspiring phantasms and be a part of the unique blend of humor and fright that established Ghostbusters as a pop culture sensation.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is available for PS3 ($59.99), PS2 ($19.99), the Xbox 360 ($59.99), Games For Windows ($29.99), Wii ($39.99) and Nintendo DS ($29.99).

Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire is the Comedy Central network’s first attempt at a fantasy-comedy series. It debuted April 9 in an hour-long special episode. Kröd (Sean Maguire) is The Golden One, the only person who can fight against the evil that is the Meconian Empire and Chancellor Dongalor (Matt Lucas). He picks a band of doughty adventurers that includes his quirky Pagan warrioress girlfriend Aneka (India de Beaufort), Zezelryck (Kevin Hart) a warlock who has the gift of gab, the half human/half swine servant Loquasto (Steve Speirs), and the fierce and proud Bruce (Marques Ray). Queensrÿche has sold at least 20 million records worldwide with their first three albums going gold, and their next two releases going platinum and triple-platinum. The band consists of Geoff Tate (vocals), Michael Wilton (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass), and Scott Rockenfield (drums). It was Tate who initiated their latest project, the impressively ambitious American Soldier. “The process started with a conversation with my Dad. He was a career military man, with the Marines in Korea and an Air Force tour of duty in Vietnam in ‘68,” says Tate. “He had never talked about his experiences in war, and all my life I’ve been asking questions and waiting for the stories that I never heard. These past couple of years he started talking, and I taped one of the conversations. That was the beginning.” Tate went on to interview dozens of soldiers, those who served in World War II and every intervening conflict up to and including the effort in Iraq.

“It’s very much a statement of the soldiers,” he says, “It’s where they are at and what they have experienced. I hope the album, as a whole, is a statement that can get them talking to each other and begin that process of connecting that needs to happen between people. This was one of the more challenging records for me to write, lyrically, because I am not involved in the songs. It is not about me, and it’s not about how I feel. It is me interpreting stories from the perspectives of the soldiers and putting their words into lyric form, retelling the story in the most honest way that I could.”
